Camila Bezerra Furloni Pós-graduanda do Curso de Especialização em Preservação e Gestão do Patrimônio Cultural das Ciências e da Saúde – Casa de Oswaldo Cruz – Fundação Oswaldo Cruz Orientadora: Ana Albano Amora Abstract The paper deals with changes in the concept of heritage and museums throughout the twentieth century and the beginning of XXI and its physical and symbolic implications in architecture. For its analysis, it uses the comparative case study between two cultural centers located within the area called Castelo, downtown of Rio de Janeiro: the Museum of Image and Sound (Museu da Imagem e do Som - MIS) and the Cultural Center of Health (Centro Cultural da Saúde - CCS), both built as pavilions for the Centennial Exhibition in Homage to Independence in 1922. It confronts the current adaptation of buildings endowed with historical value in museums with the new designs for museums as works of art themselves. Clique aqui para ler o artigo [pdf]. |
